U-Hearts Foundation: Summer 2024 Report

The U-Hearts Foundation team has dedicated the summer of 2024 to supporting homeless pets and shelters through numerous initiatives. Over the past three months, we have made significant progress in aiding stray animals, offering them care and finding homes. In this report, we outline our key achievements and the continued need for public support to help homeless pets with us.

Summer Achievements Overview

From June to August, the U-Hearts Foundation worked diligently to help homeless pets, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being. Thanks to our dedicated team and generous supporters, we successfully made an impact on thousands of animals in need.

1. Rescue and Shelter Support

– 45 216 kilograms of pet food delivered to shelters across the region, ensuring that hundreds of animals had access to proper nutrition.

2. Medical and Veterinary Care

– The foundation provided funding for 489 medications and 500 surgical supplies for animal treatment to “Animal Rescue Kharkiv”.
– What is more, 600 vaccines were sent to Kherson meanwhile 150 units to Mykolaiv.
– Additionally, 201 antiparasitic treatments for shelters were provided.

3. Support for Pet Shelters

– Through our efforts to help pet shelters, we also provided 4 cages and carriers to the shelters, enabling them to expand their capacity and take in more stray animals.
– In addition, 1369 packs of snacks were sent.
– Finally, 26 beds and mattresses, 550 animal hygiene products, 105 toys and 56 leashes and collars were provided as well.

The following support is crucial as many shelters currently struggle with overcrowding and a lack of resources.

How the Impact Is Made: Let’s Help Pet Shelters Together

Our goal is not just to rescue animals, but also to create lasting change for stray dogs and cats by addressing the root causes of animal homelessness. Below are some of the core strategies we employed this summer to help pet shelters:

1. Spaying and Neutering Campaigns

– One of our key focuses was expanding our spaying and neutering program, with surgeries performed in collaboration with local veterinary clinics. These efforts are essential to controlling the stray population and preventing future suffering for homeless pets.

2. Educational Outreach

– We believe that public education is crucial to solving the issue of homeless animals. Throughout the summer, we conducted several awareness campaigns, encouraging people to adopt pets and educating them on responsible pet ownership. These campaigns aim to help stray dogs and cats by reducing the stigma around adopting strays and promoting the importance of neutering.

3. Emergency Rescue Teams

– Our emergency teams worked tirelessly to rescue animals in need, especially during extreme weather conditions. With more resources allocated to this effort, we rescued over 300 000 animals from the streets and unsafe environments, ensuring they received immediate care.

The Need for Continued Support: Help Stray Dogs And Cats

We urge the community to take action and support these animals in need.

1. Donations and Fundraising

– Every donation helps us to help pet shelters continue providing essential services such as food, medical care, and shelter maintenance. The need for ongoing support remains critical.

2. Adopt, Don’t Shop

– We encourage families to consider adopting a pet from a shelter rather than buying from breeders. By doing so, you can directly help stray dogs and cats find a loving home and reduce the number of animals in shelters.

Help Homeless Pets Without Hesitations

The U-Hearts Foundation is deeply committed to helping homeless pets and supporting pet shelters across the region. With your continued support, we will keep working to help stray dogs and cats, rescue animals in need, and provide resources to those shelters that care for them.
