Today the U-hearts Foundation team has a great desire to share the story of a brave Ukrainian woman who puts her best efforts to help Ukrainian pets.
This is Larysa, a woman with a kind heart full of love. Larysa lives in the city of Zaporizhzhia, which is under daily threat from shelling. Notably, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe is located in the Zaporizhzhia region, and it is currently under the occupation of the russian military, who have repeatedly carried out everyday attacks. So, we can only imagine the tension in which the region’s residents find themselves!⚛️
Larysa actively helps volunteers in feeding street cats and dogs that live in her yard and nearby. This brave woman often feeds quite aggressive dogs that others may be afraid of, feeds them at night, away from the houses so that they don’t disturb the residents of the houses. Also, Larysa saved 5 dogs and 5 cats, by taking them home. She aims helping homeless cats and dogs and successfully does it.
The team of U-hearts Foundation truly admires such brave and kind people who contribute to animal rescue!
For the last few years, our volunteer, Maria, had united efforts with Larisa and they found families for 3 puppies, one adult dog, 15 adult cats and 30 kittens. Both of them are truly worried about the issue of helping pets.
This month the U-hearts Foundation team managed to send such amount of food to Zaporizhzhia:
- ? 13680 kg of dog food
- ? 6000 kg of cat food
