We and the Save Pets of Ukraine initiative have recently participated in helping the shelter “Dvornyazhkam Dim” – we donated food and cat litter. In the video, we wanted to introduce you to the owners of this shelter Anastasia, who is the head of the volunteer association Dogs Adopt Kyiv and Valeria, the head of the shelter “Dvornyazhkam Dim”. At first, they rescued animals at their own expense, but the number of stray cats and dogs became too large, so they created a page on the social network Instagram to get acquainted people with the animals and help with donations. The girls also gathered a team of several people who are helping them.
The shelter has a separate room for cats, and a room with puppies. The girls also plan to create a room for sterilization, where someone will do a surgery at low cost. It means, if volunteers, elderly people or IDPs cannot afford to carry out full sterilization of their animals, they will always be able to ask for help.
They also came up with a very cool idea – everyone can come to the shelter to walk with dogs. We are very glad that there are such young and active initiatives, and we encourage them to help. We also urge you not to be indifferent, your donations motivate us to continue our important work in the future.
