2025 for U-Hearts: Achievements and Gratitude!

In 2025, U-Hearts Foundation continued its mission to support animals affected by the war in Ukraine, delivering 245 tonnes of aid — a scale that’s hard to grasp on its own, so we like to put it in familiar terms: that’s the equivalent of 12 fully loaded trucks, 8 standard railway wagons, the weight of around 160 passenger cars, or the take-off weight of the “Mriya” aircraft without fuel.

This aid reached 16 regions under the care of U-Hearts, with special attention paid to the communities of Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Donetsk — the places where pets and their people need us most. Over the course of the year, our team and partners carried out 1,530 distributions across 365 days: hundreds of routes, 800 volunteers and shelters involved, with aid delivered non-stop, every few hours.
Behind these numbers are concrete supplies that kept animals alive and healthy: 19,657 units of veterinary medicines, 3,027 units of vitamins, 289 cages and carriers, and 500 evacuation kits. We also distributed 416 pieces of equipment, 8,786 snacks, 1,985 care products, 927 toys, and 315 beds — because survival and comfort go hand in hand.

This year, U-Hearts supported 6 humanitarian and sterilisation missions together with World Wide Vets and the Clean Futures Foundation, delivering 1,050 vaccines and 6,770 kg of pet food, and helping sterilise 2,170 pets. That number is more than a statistic — in just one year, these same animals could otherwise have given birth to over 10,000 kittens or around 7,000 puppies, so every sterilisation is a long-term contribution to reducing the number of homeless pets on the streets.

Thanks to our shared efforts, 1,050 pets found their forever families in 2025 — roughly the equivalent of four apartment buildings where every single home now has a pet living inside. We also stood by those who protect us: 1.9 tonnes of pet food went to the furry companions of the military, supporting Armed Forces units with service dogs and the animals who became emotional support for soldiers in the trenches. We care for those on duty, and for those standing by their side on the front lines.

Beyond direct aid, 2025 was also a year of building a co-world for pets and humans through large-scale projects. Together with partners, we co-founded “Zoosvidomi,” the First All-Ukrainian Animal Welfare Forum; launched “Companions,” a programme training emotional support dogs to help veterans, soldiers, and children find peace, trust, and safety; and premiered “War Through the Eyes of Pets,” a film anthology featuring Ukrainian artists alongside Sean Penn and Imagine Dragons.

We also supported important initiatives throughout the year: our work was showcased at Zoomark, the international pet industry exhibition in Bologna, Italy; the Pet Industry Federation (PIF) led a fundraising initiative through which guests raised an incredible €16,083; and East-SOS x U-Hearts brought evacuation kits and food to both people and pets.

None of this would have been possible without the partners and friends who walked this path with U-Hearts throughout 2025, including Greater Good Charities, Pets Corner UK, the Pet Industry Federation, McAdams Pet Foods, Zealandia Pets, Zoomark International, Schesir, Fressnapf Deutschland, Kormotech, World Wide Vets, and Clean Futures Fund. Thank you to every partner, volunteer, and donor — you are the heart of U-Hearts.
