Animals are suffering in Ukraine, with hundreds of thousands of dogs and cats living on the war-torn streets without their families, with rescue centres also bursting at the seams. Save Pet of Ukraine is a rallying cry for pet lovers across the UK to provide the desperate food and supplies required to keep these animals alive.

Non-profit U-Hearts is working with the Pet Industry Federation (PIF) and spottydog communications to unite the UK pet-loving population and provide the all-important aid, whether that be from businesses, individuals or fellow charities.

Thank you for your interest in supporting Save Pets of Ukraine. We understand that there are so many amazing, deserving animal charities across the UK. If you would like to make a huge difference to the animals’ lives in Ukraine, there are several ways that you can provide support:

1. Ongoing commitment / Charity of the Year

If your business is a member of the pet industry, you can support the animals on an ongoing basis with products (such as food and treats), supplies (such as collars and blankets), or monetary donations.

  • Your logo on the Save Pets of Ukraine website, showing that you have pledged your ongoing support
  • Informative and motivational presentation to your colleagues or members
  • Social media assets to help spread the good word
  • Printable assets such as posters,leaflets, and bunting to share with team members
  • Images of your donations being received by the deserving animals in Ukraine, where possible

2. One-off donation

Whether you have some short-dated stock available at this very moment, or may do in the future, we are happy to receive one-off donations at times that you are available to give.

    spottydog communications is leveraging its many connections within the pet industry, as well as UK-wide media contacts, to drive forward the communications for Save Pets of Ukraine.The team also represented the campaign at PATS (a leading pet-trade show) in September 2022, gathering over four pallets of products from brands across the industry.

    The Pet Industry Federation has been working with U-Hearts and PIF members to identify ways in which the UK pet industry can provide aid for dogs and cats affected by the war in Ukraine. This has already resulted in the delivery of pallets of pet food to Ukraine and PIF will continue to engage its network to enable as much aid as possible to be donated.

    3. Christmas appeal “Operation Paw-pose” (Action ended up!)

    Give a gift of joy this Christmas by donating a festive hamper to Ukrainian pets!

    Each of us, regardless of age, always feels the anticipation of Christmas magic every year. We try to surprise our relatives, furnish the house, and cook the tastiest dishes.

    At this festive time, we suggest that you remember those who also deserve care and attention, namely our fluffy friends.

    The full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine brings a lot of grief not only to people, but also to our pets. A huge number of cats and dogs have been left without owners and pets of internally displaced persons (IDPs) also need our support as their owners have lost everything — their home, job and belongings.

    At the U-Hearts Foundation, we perfectly understand the situation the animals of Ukraine found themselves in because, since February 24, we have been helping the Save Pets of Ukraine initiative. Together we managed to transfer more than 500 tons of pet food to help more than 40,000 cats and 70,000 dogs.
    Thanks to the Save Pets of Ukraine initiative by U-Hearts Foundation and our partners, Ukrainian animals are being provided food and essential supplies but with the war ongoing, and extra help is needed. With Christmas around the corner, now is the pawfect time to make a difference to the animals that need it most.

    That’s why U-Hearts Foundation, communications agency spottydog communications, and the Ukrainian marketplace Epicentrk.ua, have partnered together to help gift the Ukrainian pets in need a special Christmas surprise as we believe every animal deserves to feel the magic of Christmas!
